2024
- Helena has been selected for internship with SC Center for Rural and Primary Healthcare. Congrats Helena! - Ivory has been awarded a Magellan Apprentice award for Capstone Scholars. Congrats Ivory! - Ymani's first, first-author publication is out in Micropublication Biology describing amino acid transporter expression across several adult fly tissues - Tancia's first, first-author publication is out in Developmental Biology, describing the meat of her doctoral work. It's a beautiful body of work! - Justice, a Claflin University undergraduate, presented her summer research as an SC-ADAR scholar at Discover USC 2023. She will be missed! - Two new lab members have joined the squad - Ymani (doctoral program) and Isaiah (master's program) 2023 - Tancia successfully defended her doctoral dissertation in October. Congratulations Dr. Bradshaw!!! (check out the photos in the gallery) - An Armstrong-Boggs lab collaboration paper has come out describing the development of antibodies to assess IIS and mTOR signaling in butterflies - Our Methods in Molecular Biology Chapter in Germline Stem Cells is out "Methods to Analyze Nutritional and Inter-Organ Control of Drosophila Ovarian Germline Stem Cells" co-authored by Chad and Tancia - Justice, a Claflin University undergraduate, presented her summer research as an SC-ADAR scholar at Discover USC 2023. She will be missed! - Two new lab members have joined the squad - Ymani (doctoral program) and Isaiah (master's program) - Esha succesfully defended her honors thesis work - Chad and Tancia successfully completed their comprehensive exams, the last milestone before dissertation defenses - Tancia was awarded a SPARC Graduate Research Grant to support her work during Summer 2023 - Chad was awarded an SREB Doctoral Scholars Award that provides funding and professional development support 2022 - David successfully defended his research proposal - Dr. Armstrong has been awarded a Science Diversity Leadership award from the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative and National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Math (click the image to learn more) - Dr. Armstrong will be giving a symposium talk at the ASCB-EMBO meeting in December - Miranda and Tancia attended the first workshop sponsored by PAIR-UP and hosted at Vanderbilt University - CONGRATS to Emma and Megan for earning their undergraduate degrees from UofSC!!! - Tancia (virtually) and Chad (in-person) presented their work at Fly Meeting (63rd Annual Drosophila Research Conference) - Esha was awarded funding through the Magellan Scholar Program to support her independent research |
